Hi folks, I am a little new at this so hope you can help with this one.

Basically, I want to store a backup of a database to a different location on the server at the end of each day.

Can this be done by setting a specific time to start back-up proceedures during the night or are there better ways to do this.

Thanks in advance.

I always run a two-part database with the data stored in a separate back end. Each night I run:

[tt]DBEngine.CompactDatabase strDatabaseName, strBackupName[/tt]

which creates a backup by compacting the data into a new database.

Hi there alvechurchdata

Thanks for your response. What I am looking for is some kind of time setting in order to automatically transfer the data to another location overnight - Do you know a way to do this?

Again, thanks in advance
