BACKUP DATA TO LOCAL MACHINE

Hi Guys

I have had several bad experiences with my ISP recently.

Whilst I begin the task of finding an alternative ISP ...

Is there an easy way I can backup / copy MySql tables to my desktop PC. It would be neet if I could query these backups once of my desktop PC with MS Access.

Export the files as csv files. If you use PHPMyAdmin to admin your db, choose the export option to create the proper files. It can create csv or sql files for easy restore and you can download the files to your machine

if you have access to shell on this server you can dump database

mysqldump -u login -p nameofdatabase > db.sql

and download this file
in this file you'll have all commands to recreate database on another server
