Hi all,

I am looking to backup our PIX configuration. I have read the cisco doc's but can't seem to get my head around it.

From what I have read, I should be able to perform the following command:

write net (server IP): (file name)

But every time I try this I get the following error:

Timed out attempting to connect
(FAILED)

Has anyone seen this one.

TIA for any help. mot98

HI.

For the "write net" command to work, you need a TFTP server running on the destination host.
Did you install one?
Is there any router between the pix and tftp server?
Can they ping each other?

In addition to "write net", I recommend copy and paste to text file and/or printer of the configuration.
This comes more handy when you need to review previous config or to use only part of it and not the whole.

Bye
