backup card for merlin messaging 2.5 2

can anyone tell me the backup card used with a merlin messaging 2.5 rel. have 6 port expansion card in it now but does not show back up on it. what is the card number or type.

It doesn't show back-up? Is the PCMCIA card something that was recently purchased....say....off of eBay?

As of late, there have been aftermarket PCMCIA cards (primarily for Avaya Partner Messaging voicemail systems) sold on eBay. The cards unlock the ports to the voicemail system, but they do not appear to provide back-up/restore functionality.

Buyer beware!!!

I have several original Avaya branded Merlin Messaging license cards in stock. None of them are labeled "backup", but they are all fully functional. Try to do a backup and see what happens. It's the only way to know whether your card is a knockoff.

A "PORT" card (which does the BACKUP FUNCTION) is RAISED in the area just inside the outer border. If it's flat, like the "Regular" Legend/Magix Backup card, it's a fake.

Merlinman, that's right. The originals are raised in the middle like the Partner silver backup card.

There is a raised center on the Partner Voice Messaging PCMCIA card as well.

Here is a listing on eBay for an Avaya Merlin Messaging with a knock-off 12 port license:

I saved an image of the card. Even though the license is inserted into the module, enough of it is visible to conclude that it is a fake.

True....the edge is raised, but the exposed labeling leads me to think otherwise.
