Backup cancelling by itself !! BrightStor 11.1

I am running BrightStor r11.1 on Novell 6.5. It has been working fine for the longest time. Nothing has changed since I first got this problem. The backup job starts normally, however it will cancel right away by itself !! Here's the log:

What's more upsetting is the fact that the Activity log shows "cancelled reason: user initiated" which makes no sense as I am the only one here with enough authority to cancel a job.

Any ideas as to what's wrong ??

don't know

however it might help to track it down if you run a Copy or Count job just to see if they run correctly. That will tell you the problem is related to the tape engine portion.

Oh also you can try a backup to a file system device instead of tape. And enable debug.
