I have a couple of questions. I have Windows 2000 and Exchange 2000.

1) In the Active Directory under the user section, there is a user called "krbtgt". What is this used for?? Also, this "user" has a red X on it. What doesn't the red X mean?? --> Something not configured right when there is a red X??

2) I have a couple of users that I don't want them to receive any INTERNET email, only internal email. How do I configure them so that they can get EXTERNAL email?? I have removed thier SMTP address from the Email tab in AD. When I do this, the user then can't receive ANY email...internal or internet email. How do I go about getting this to work??

3) What program should I use to BACKUP my Exchange 2000 server? Right now I am using the Windows 2000 backup program. For some reason, I can't get it to automate it's backups. I put in the schedule when to run, but it doesn't run when it is supposed to. When I look at the reports, it says that it "could not find any unused media." The tapes that I use do have something on it, and I want to overwright it. I have checked all the settings that I know of saying that I want to overwite the media. Any ideas??

What BACKUP software would you suggest I use to backup my Exchange Server?? I am not all that satisfied with Windows 2000 Backup software.

Thanks for your help and suggestions everyone.

OK...I kind of have a handle for Question #1. It has something to do with Kerberos Authentication. Not really sure on how exactly to use this, so if anyone has any help sites that I can look at, that would be great.

For question #2, I found a site that explained what to do. I am able to block emails from the internet to the receipient, but I can't block the Exchange user from sending to Internet mail. Can anyone help me on this. Here is the link that I found out how to do it. Look at question 5.3. I have Exchange 2000. I do have some screen shots of my setup for the outgoing smtp. If you would like to see it, you can email me or just leave your email address on a reply and I will send them to you.

As for question #3, I have not found any other information.

Thanks.
