backup and shutdown procedure for Opt11

Hi. Here's a former ROLM tech in a bit of a bind with an old Option 11. I basically need to perform a backup of the PBX and Meridian Mail and gracefully shutdown those systems temporarily. I have terminal access to both and the S/W release is 22.16. If anyone could share the proper procedure with me about how best to bring them down & up, I'd appreciate it.

power down.. no softdown

the mail has a gracefull shutdown in the maint screen.. but i very seldom use it.. if you have a tape drive you can do a full and a partial backup to that.. you may need both if it does not boot.. i've had to power cycle both and done so without problems.. all switch data is already backup, internally.. both will boot into service from a cold start.. i was a rolm tech prior to simmions.. from rls 7000 to 9751's.. those were great boxes
