backup and restore question

SQL Server 2000. refreshing Production Database to Backup Database on the same Instance.

Backup and restore or DTS?????

if using backup and restore, does it matter if both have the same logical names for the data and log files?

Backup and restore, always.

Logical names matching is no problem. Make sure that the physical file names don't match.
