hi

i have an iplanet ldap ver 5.1 on w2k srv.

db2bak seems to work but i think it doesn't do everything since I cant log in as the ldap admin after i do a bak2db.

Sure

Export the contents of the directory server by running the following from the <slapd-instance> directory:

db2ldif -n userRoot

This will export a file to your <slapd-instance>/ldif folder.

Copy this file to your target server.

Assuming you have installed the directory server on this new server with the base suffix (dc=whatever,dc=com) navigate to this new server's <slapd-instance> directory.

Make sure the server is off - then run:

ldif2db -n userRoot -i /fullpath/to/copied/ldif.ldif

Notice the UNIX directory listing ... - you must specify the full path ...
