backup and recovery the aix system (rootvg ) to or from DVD?

i backup my aix system (rootvg) through smitty mksysb and burn the backup image to DVD.
can anybody tell me if the recovery system (rootvg) procedure is similar to the recovering the system from tape which boots the system from tape or DVD
and choose the recover the system from media?

The way I do it is to make the DVD bootable, change the bootlist on the destination server to be the cd0 and it will do it automatically.
