Backup Agents

Hi,

Just inheritated the backup responsibilities at work & wondering what the implications of servers being backed under "Network" instead of under "Windows NT/2000XP Systems" - as the servers don't have the agents installed.

Hi,

If you do not have the client agent for Windows installed on the remote server, you would not be able to add them under "Windows NT/2000XP Systems" . Therefore, you wouldnt be able to make use of the PUsH technology of the windows agents, which speeds up the backup.

For detailed advantages of the client agent, please refer to the user manual in the DOC folder of the installation CD>
