Backup Agent RPC server

I get an error when ever this service tries to start.

Event ID: 7031

The backup agent RPC server service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this (#) times.

This is Arcserve 2000 for Exchange 2000 agent. The backups were working fine but all of a sudden the service will not start.

I also am running W2K sp3 with Sp4 on the agent, with Exchange 2000 with sp3.

Can you remember whatever changed in your environment, prior to this ? Did this happen after applying sp3 voor W2K or Exchange, after applying sp4 on the agent ??
Try to put the exchange agent in debug mode and see what the *trc logfiles mention ( for debugging, see :
