I'm using ArcServeIT 6.61 AE for NT and the Backup Agent for Oracle.
I try to backup an Oracle Database stationed on another server, with the same SID as defined on the backup server.
The backup server and the other one are WINNT 4.0 servers.
Through the Easy Configuration module I made an Alias by using the TCP-protocol, the IP-number and the SID as used on that server. In the Oracle Agent I use the Alias SID and the correct username/password combination.
Connection through the Agent is not possible. Connection by using the command-prompt with the Alias SID and the correct username/password to the database on the other server gives no trouble.
Is it some way or another possible to backup an Oracle Database on another server in the LAN?
