Anyone know or have code so that the user can press a button, and it will back up the current access database in a .rar format (I believe that is the standard windows?). I have one code that requires a 3rd part .zip, but the file keeps saying "corrupted".
This would backup to a specific directory...ie: c:\databases\backup

Thanks.

Windows needs additional software to handle RAR format files, so you would need someting like WinRAR or 7-Zip.

The only in built compression software in Windows XP is Microsoft Compressed Folders, which uses the .zip format; for versions before that, third party systems are required.

There are code samples on this site using WinZip to compress files, just search for them.
