Hi Guys,

I've been asked to create a weekly backup of 2 filesystems in a volumegroup (non-rootvg),and I'd like to do that with the backup command of AIX ( backup to /dev/rmt0)

backing up 1 FS is no problem, but after the backup is completed, I see that the tape is being rewound. So if I launch a second backup for filesystem_B, the filesystem_A backup will be overwritten.

the syntax I now use is
/usr/sbin/backup -f'/dev/rmt0' -'0' /filesystem_A

Is there a parameter that can be set so the rewind doesn't take place? Or can I backup 2 filesystems in 1 session one way or the other?

Thx in advance,

Kinds regards,

R.
