backspace and/or arrow

I have another issue. If I prompt the user for info, if I try to correct a typo buy hitting the backspace or arrow key, pressing those keys displays control characters that hose up the execution.
 
Is this in a Tcl-shell, or a Tk-shell? If the former, I think it's your keyboard settings. What OS?

I am using zsh in a Solaris environment.
 
This is not a Tcl question, per se, but I think you have to do this in your zsh:
stty erase <backspace>
