Backs up to folder above and truncates filenames

We are running BrightStor ArcServe 9 on Netware 6 using HP Ultrium 230 drive. The drive has the most up to date firmware and the netware server is fully service-packed. However, during the backup, the files are moved to whatever folder is directly above it and the file names are truncated, despite the long file name support being loaded and enabled.

We have noticed that the truncation occurs when we remove some folders from the backup, as a full backup has produced the correct results. However, the files are still shunted up one level and dumped in the folder above.

Any suggestions? Let me know if you need log files or the like.
