Backround Colour on Layer doesnt show

Hello everyone,

I am new to web design and the like and am using dreamweaver to make my home page. Now I have done it in layers but when I press F12 to see what I got the backround colour of my layers are not showing up.

The writing in the layers do show up but against the backround of the general page and not the backround of the layer itself.

Can anyone help me with this?

Well we could try, but we'll need either your code, or at least a place where we can see your site.

Are you using images for the backgrounds, or are you setting actual colors? If colors, how are you setting them?

We need more information to help you.

sorry I guess you can tell how new I am at this, my site isn't
uploaded yet, but I can paste the code if that helps. My backround are colours and I basically placed the hexadecimal number for them in the design layout where it asks for it in the layers.

Here is the code for the site: I can get you a url soon just after I figure out my ftp info to upload it.

The first colors I see are all basically white.
#EEEEEE.

The other colors I see you are using are missing the "#" before them. They hexadecimal numbers require the "#" symbol.
So This

should look like this:

Also you can remove the layer-background-color property as that was only for Netscape and is now unnecessary.

You really know your stuff thats amazing how you caught that. I've been trying to solve this for a week now, I put the number sign in and it worked. Can't believe I missed that out.
