What I'd like to know is if anyone has installed the Backoffice Server 4.5 portion on Windows 98. Did you partition your disk or can I use one hard drive for all Visual Products with the WINNT boot up provided? The Start-up book implies that Backoffice can't be installed on Windows 98, but the CD packet with the Backoffice CD's seems to imply that it can. To format the drive and partition it just to find out I'm getting nowhere is a gigantic waste of time.

Thanks

Joe

BackOffice Server only runs under WinNT. You would need to create a new partition on a Win98 system to install it and then you would have a dual boot system - only one OS would be available at one time. Note: Because the new partition will be NTFS, you won't be able to read any of the files created there under Win98, and if the Win98 partition uses FAT32 you probably won't be able to read the files there under WinNT. (Hint: You'll need to reinstall any and all applications you use in this new partition, and unless you create a third mutually readable partion using a file system both Win98 and NT can share, you won't be able to share the data either.) Effectively you'll have two PCs that only share the same hardware.

Thanks soooo much! This is a tremendous help! I will definately consider doing this once I get a larger hard drive.
