I was asked to set up our DT700 series phones (those that DO support the backlight), to keep the backlight on all the time. Is that possible? This is on SV8500 with S3 software. I went through the ASYD manual as well as the Peripherial manual and the Business Features manual, but nothing.

I still have hope though...

Command:
15485 Time that LCD backlight for DT300/DT700 Series
[8300R2]

0123456
NONE = 10 sec
0 = Always off
1 = Always on
2 = 5 seconds
3 = 10 seconds
4 = 15 seconds
5 = 30 seconds
6 = 60 seconds
def = 10 seconds
NOTE: After this data setting, this data is valid by resetting DT300/DT700 Series or executing CM12 Y=29.

It's promising to see that it works on some phone systems, looks like your solution is for SV8300; however my system is SV8500...

I think what you are looking for is an individual station option. I found this procedure in the DT300/700 user guide.

Thank you for the suggestion. What's described there will enable or disable the backlight, but even if it's enabled, it will only stay on for approx 10 seconds after something is done with the phone. What I'm looking for is an option to keep it always on. In some working spaces, the lights are not ideal and workers often want to use the phone as a watch to see what time is it, but can't easily read the screen if the backlight if off...

I could not find anything in ASYD/ASYDL/ASFC that would allow it.
