Backlight on 1400 Series Digital Phones

IP Office 406V2 with 1416 Digital phones. When I originally installed this system it was running R6.0(8) firmware and the backlight on the 1416 phones stayed on all the time. I recently upgraded to R6.1(12) to address some known issues that existed in the earlier firmware (specifically, speakerphone volume issues as discussed in TB-129). The upgrade went fine and did correct the issues we were having. However, the backlight on the phones now goes off after about an hour or so of inactivity. I guess this is a new feature in the latest firmware, presumably for power saving? My customer however would prefer to have the backlight stay on all the time, as it used to with the earlier firmware, but I can’t figure out how to change this setting. I’ve been searching online but can’t find anything about this. Anyone know how to change this setting, or if it’s even possible to do so?

That the backlight did not turn off before was probably a bug.
The light will not go off when the phone is used once in a while so tell them to use it a bit more on the day

I know how to adjust the backlight timeout for IP phones using the 46xxsettings file, but that obviously won’t work for these digital sets. So, tlpeter, are you saying that there’s no way to change this on these 1400 series phones, as far as you know? Seems odd that Avaya would not make this an adjustable setting, like it is on the IP phones with backlights...
