I need help on backing the /graphic/home/all the subdirectory/ on linux system by using the hewlett packard Travan T20 tape drive. asumming that I do not know nothing about linux. Can someone give me the step on how to back up the system. Thanks

Hi,
You need to know the device name of the tape drive, such as /dev/st0. There are different utilities to back up files such as tar and cpio. A script for cpio would be:

cd /graphic
find . -print | cpio -ocvB > /dev/st0

be careful because if the device name is not correct you simply wind up creating a file on your hard drive by that device name.
