We have Veritas Backup Exec 8.6 for Windows Servers and an Exabyte Autopak 1x7 tape drive. It currently holds 6 backup tapes and 1 cleaning tape. I believe it was originally set up to backup to the tapes according to the day (Mon=1, Tues=2....Sun=Clean). How do I change that? How can I be sure that it is currently backing up Wednesday backups to tape 3?

You can partition the slots and have your scheduled job targeting that specific slot - Tape 3. Make sure Tape 3 is overwritable and you should be good to go. Good Luck

Sounds great. How do I partition the slot? I haven't found that option yet.

It was a long weekend sorry I didn't see your response earlier, but it looks like you got the partitions working. Hope it works out for you.
