I have a couple of accounting applications that allow users to backup data files to A:\. The client A:\ drive is mapped and users can read/write/delete files from A: in Windows Explorer.

When trying to backup to A: from the applications I get an error message saying "Removeable media not available".

Applications in question are Quickbooks 2002 and Solution6. Neither vendor supports their software in a thin client environment. Also other applications such as NZA Accounts and Quickbooks 7.5 backup to the A:\ fine.

Anyone had a similar problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the the application is trying to point to the server a:\drive...you would need to look at the mappings within the app...does each user have an .ini file (or equivalent) when they start the apps in question..???
