I am trying to backup my Zenworks database with BrightStor Arcserve 11. It backs up everything but the datatbase files. Can anyone inform me of what commands I need and what else needs to be done. Thanks

Below is the Arcserve log:

Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\NAL\DB\NAL.LOG
Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\NAL\DB\NAL.DB
Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\NAL\DB\_FL.AAA
Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\INV\DB\MGMTDB9.DB
Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\INV\DB\MGMTDB8.DB
Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\INV\DB\MGMTDB7.DB
Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\INV\DB\MGMTDB6.DB
Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\INV\DB\MGMTDB5.DB
Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\INV\DB\MGMTDB4.DB
Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\INV\DB\MGMTDB3.DB

Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\INV\DB\MGMTDB11.DB
Skip open file VOL1:\ZENWORKS\DATABASE\INV\DB\MGMTDB10.DB

I ran the ZFDSTOP and STOP SER * commands

ZFDSTOP and ZFDSTART do not control the Sybase database module.

What load the database is mgmtdbs.ncf, in this file you will find it load dbsrv8.nlm That is the module you want to unload.

At the server console, you will see a screen labeled "ASA version.something.something bla bla bla - IP address" By pressing "Q" on this screen will unload the database server. I do not know how "safe" it is to unload the database server nlm directly in a pre backup launch script, but test and let us know.

Normally, I suggest to customer to not bother backing the inventory database up. It's not historical, it simple to rebuild, and hold zero user data. So an easier solution wouldbe to just skip those files in your backup.
