Is there a way I can backup individual SQL Server 7.0 db files using Backup exec 8.5 without having SQL Agent installed. I have Exchange agent and remote agent installed. Installing SQL Agent is not an option right now. All SQL files are currently skipped. Don't want to use NT Backup because I won't have option of backing up individual files. Thanks for all your help.

Just do a SQL backup through SQL. Then backup those BAK files. Set it up in a SQL maint. plan. Then have BE run after it completes.

If you have the Open File Option you can backup the SQL as flat files even if they are open. But the OFO is also an add-on serial key.

I would not do it this way though...
