Hi,

I think what I need clarification on is how to back up an "instance" of sql server. This is the recommendation before upgrading to 2005.

What does backing up an "instance" involve? Obviously, the user db's, but everything else as well? Is there a step by step FAQ that discusses this, and also how to restore the entire instance, if necessary? If I end up in this situation, I would like to have everything clearly outlined!

THANKS MUCH

Backup the system and userdatabases (except for tempdb).
