Hello all,
I have just migrated over to Mdaemon not too long ago. I have a question on backup stratagies. I would like to backup everything every night. Is there a way to back everything up this way? I have tried to just copy it while it is running but I keep on getting files in use or files not found errors. I think that I know of a way to avoid this issue with xcopy or robocopy but I was wondering if there was a better way.

Thanks
Mel

I just use Veritas Backup Exec and it does fine. What files are you encountering in use (mailbox files or program files or ??)

The files that I am having a problem with are the message files. I havent tried veritas yet. Hmmm, currently for all my backups, I am just using Windows scripts to pull everything and then run the job to tape during the day. Although, I could just save to disk, then back it up to tape during the day. Cool deal, thanks for the info on that.
