Is it possible to safely back up a Lotus Notes database server using OTM? Anyone have experience doing this? If a .nsf file was in use during the backup, would the version on tape be corrupt?

Thanks,
Jesse

Yes and No. You will always have a chance for a "FUZZY" backup without using the Lotus Notes API/Agent. I have tested this and 2 out of 10 times I was able to recover OK. This of course is not a good percentage. You can however shut down Notes and backup that file and you should be OK.

Thank you comtec17, for posting your experience. I won't even try using OTM like that; We're going to go down the road of replicating to another server and stopping that server at backup time.

Thanks again.
Jesse
