Using BackupExec9.0 rev 4454 to backup a local exchange server (5.5 running windowsNT4) with the exchange agent.

The backup completes successfully, but with exceptions:
Unable to open the item C:\Inetpub\Catalog.wci\CiCL0001.000 - skipped.
Unable to open the item C:\Inetpub\Catalog.wci\CiPS0000.000 - skipped.
Unable to open the item C:\Inetpub\Catalog.wci\CiPT0000.000 - skipped.
Unable to open the item C:\Inetpub\Catalog.wci\CiSL0001.000 - skipped.
Unable to open the item C:\Inetpub\Catalog.wci\CiSP0000.000 - skipped.
Unable to open the item C:\Inetpub\Catalog.wci\CiST0000.000 - skipped.
Unable to open the item C:\Inetpub\Catalog.wci\CiVP0000.000 - skipped.
Unable to open the item C:\Inetpub\Catalog.wci\INDEX.000 - skipped.
Unable to open the item C:\WINNT\VxsvcError.log.tmp - skipped.

What are these files and how can I get these files to backup successfully? Do I even need them?

Andyfram

They are all Index service files - IIS to be exact - don't think you need them in a restore situation as they are only temp files created during cataloging of the index service databases.

If you want to back them up, you will need the Advanced Option File Option - this allows you to back up open files successfully - well usually :)
