I'm kind of new to this and need a little help. We have several clusters to backup, but one is giving me a little problem. Two servers are clustered and when node1 is active, one of our policies ends with a 71 error. The folders we are trying to backup are shared, but reside on a drive on the inactive node2. When I check in the backup selections in the policy, with node1 active, I can't see the drive or hte shares that I need to back up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try this. Create two policies.

One to backup up the each individual cluster node's drive C:, System_State:, and other drives you may have common to all cluster nodes, minus the shared drive(s).

The other backup policy should backup the "cluster (NETBIOS) name" and only the shared drive(s).

This way, all drives are known by who is backing them up.

Hi,

Similar to what Vaxinated stated. We have several unix clusters (Sun / VCS) running Oracle in Active / Standby configuration.

We have the one policy that backs up ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES on each node in the cluster, and has an exclude list which causes netbackup to skip the shared / clustered volumes.

We have a separate policy that is tied to the virtual IP / DNS entry that follows the shared volumes and packages between the two nodes.
