I currently have a Definity 3gsi pbx with a Map 40 d Audix voice mail as well as Avaya Modular Messaging. I am trying to get information on the Audix and its backup. the back up is currently done to a Jazz disk. Is there any other way to back up the Audix voice mail? Along with the above question, can I make a single mail box in Audix not allow a voice mail to be deleted. So if I had a user that we dont want to allow to delete messages is this possible? Any help would be great.

I'm not sure on the backup question, or stopping a user from deleting, but if you use Avaya Message Manager Software, you could save the voice messages as .wav or .lvp files (on an per-user basis).

You could setup Message Manager on your computer and check the other person's voice mail account and save messages.

Another thing you may be able to is if the Modular Messaging is sending to an email box, send it to a distribution list with a 2nd account to store the backups.

If Modular messaging does not send it to the email account, there may be a way for you to enable "Internet Messaging" if the Voice Mail server is connected to the network, then you can download a PopCon tool on your exchange that sends the .lvp file to the email address and the user can download the Avaya LVP player to listen to messages in that email account.

Is the Avaya message manager a stand alone client or does this software need to be loaded on a server as well as a client app?

Message manager is a stand alone app, the mailbox just needs to be setup for IMAPI access for it to work.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy and the install instruction for Message Manager?
