I having trouble trying to backup an isa2004 server using backup exec (veritas). There are no communications between the Media Server and the isa server.

I'm guessing that I have to allow connections to the isa server on port 10000 etc to allow the backup to proceed.

However im not sure how to implement incoming rules to the isa server.

any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

CREATE ALLOW RULE FROM DE LOCHALHOST TO THE INTERNAL AND FROM THE INTERNAL TO THE LOCALHOST TO ALLOW TRAFFIC BETWEEN ISA AND THE NET

COCO10

I've got a new ISA2004 server, and I want to back up with Backup Exec 10 also. I've tried Coco10's suggestion, but probably haven't done it properly. Can Coco10 or anyone else give a bit more detail on this. I've come to ISA2004 straight from Proxy 2.0, so it's a bit of a jump!
TIA

Guys, why are you doing this? The backup feature built into the ISA is amazing. I lost my ISA server the other day. I had my backups, which are just xml files with encryption. I formatted the computer, reinstalled the OS, service packs, and reinstalled ISA. That took about 1 Hour.

To reinstall the exact same configuration with all my policies; well that took about 3 minutes. Super pain free. I carry the back up with me on my memory key.

Good luck,

Anthony
