Can the IP Office allow music to be played thru the handsets speaker when the handset is idle and can calls be recorded while talking with the caller? The recorded call once completed si stored as a regular message in the users voice mailbox. These two features are available on the Nortel MICS sets using F86 for BACKGROUND MUSIC and F989 for RECORD CALL. I had read that this may not be available

"A phone is a phone and not a computer workstation".

You could use *34(1) (holdmusic)
And yes you can record calls but only with VMPro or an external recorder (mostly on the lines)

BAZINGA!
