Does anyone know why the background music is defaulted to max after a reboot. I have always noticed that after I reboot a MICS or CICS all sets that had thrie F86 on even if the volume level was low the system would default it to high. I have to run around to all of the sets and lower the volume. If this is when the staff is in they jump out of their seats at the volume when it come back on. I also noticed that the speakerphone level is also at high. The ringer volume stay as set by the user.

Very strange. Is there a setting I am missing?

Thank you!

That would be under System Programming > Feature Settings > Receiver Volume.

However, with a name like "Receiver Volume", I'd expect this setting to apply only to the handset…

Yes I use that setting on all of my installs and it only applies to the handsets Receiver and nothing else that I a aware of.

That's what I thought.

I guess the only option left is to turn down the volume of the music source.

I agree, if they are jumping out of seats then somebody is tuning the music source on too high and could do damage to the KSU if not hooked up correctly.
20 years and never heard of this complaint.

No that is not the case. I always carefully balance all of my MOH audio sources into the KSU and do not allow the clients to touch the audio source. It is the SW that is not keeping the users volume setting.
