Hi All,

Using CRXI

I have a report with 4 group footers. All th egroup footers are summaries and they are displayed in different background colors. I have inserted a Box for each group (each group has 10 columns) so one box for all those 10 columns in each group and gave the reqd background color to each box.

Now when i export to excel or excel data only, everything is fine , all th ecolumsn are alligned but the background colors do not show , I get white backgrounds for all.

Here are the options I have checked

Export to Excel data only:
Column width based on "Group footer 4"
Export Object Formatting
Maintain Relative Object Position
Export Page header and Page footer
Simply page headers

Here are the options that are checked in Export to excel
Column width based on "group footer 4"
Show gridlines

Please let me know what am I missing.
Is it possible to show background color atleast in one of th e options?

Thanks

nb4884,

Though I haven't had this situation specifically, you could try exporting to Excel (the non-data only) and see how it looks. I know I have 1 report in 400+ each month that is exported in this format instead of the Data Only option.

I don't know that it will provide you what you seek, but it is a pretty quick test if it does work.

Hope this helps! Cheers!

Thanks Mike , I did try the Excel option, non data only see my notes above.

In that option too it does not show background colors

oops!

That being said, Thanks! Now I know should I ever be asked.

Hopefully another fellow Tek-Tipper can help you out nb4884, cheers!

nb4884,

Though not your exact issue, something similar from Google: www.crystalreportsbook.com

Slightly different issue, in that they were trying to get the background color of a text field (versus a section), but perhaps the same "flaw" in Crystal applies to both?

Cheers!

Thanks Mike , for giving this wonderful suggestion, I did get some idea from the link you gave me. It seems the export options do not display the background color for a box but if the text box is used instead then export options do display the color. I have removed the boxes and inserted Text Box and for some fields I had to set their background color.

Anyways, this did solve my Qs

Thanks
