Recently, I opened my web site, to find that all the pages were Black in color. I also opened the live version to find the same thing.

After looking in the preferences, I retagged the background to white, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Has anyone encountered this?

My web address is
The live files are intact, as I didn't save anything when I accessed them.

I think the problem is with the software on my computer. I accessed the live files with a version of the software on the computer attached to the server and it's fine. I also had IT install a version of the software on a laptop and that also opens the files without a problem.

I've re-installed the software twice on my own computer (where I see the files opening with a black background), and that has not made a difference.

I also published a copy of the live site to a new folder on my computer. When I opened it, again, all pages were defaulted to black, as well as the table colors. I went looked at the table colors and could change them, but the background, I could not.

I hope this is a little clearer. I'm running Windows XP with Front Page 2000.

Hi.

I logged into your web site and it all looked OK to me. Background of the pages was white.

However, when it started to load, the background was grey. Your code says 'bgcolor="#CCCCCC"', so that's correct. Until the background image loads, the page background will be grey. The exact shade will vary from PC to PC. Then it will be the colour of the image file. If the image file doesn't load for any reason, the background will continue to be grey.

If you want a white background, use bgcolor="#ffffff".

Also, remove the link to the background image. It just wastes bandwidth and slows the loading of the page if all you want is a white background.

Hope this helps.
