Background app, only show icon in taskbar 1

Hi, I want my program to be running in the background all the time (easily done by adding it to my startup list), but I don't want it to be visible, just to have an icon in the task bar (the bottom-right part next to the clock). Could anyone give me a link or pointers as to how to do this?

Various things weren't implemented yet : data types, functions etc etc, happens a lot, I just need to get that D7 disc back
