I have two problems with backup exec on a nw5.1 sp3 server.
I get Novell SMS Errors saying Cannot scan for trustees and Admin has full rights (any Ideas please)
also I cannot backup the Licenses I think Novell has taken away to right to do that is this correct ?
It tells me I do not have privileges to back up the two licenses.

Please help.....

Novell has this to say about licenses and backups:

By Novell Design the ACL (trustee assignment attribute on the object) is masked so that they cannot be read or written to. This mask was put into NW5SP4 to prevent possible policy manager errors which has improved the licensing product.

You do not need to restore licenses from tape in a disaster recovery they should be installed after you install DS on the server but before you install Arcserve and restore the NDS objects. Remember to never restore the entire NDS database in a
multiple server environment where R/W or Master replica's are present.

If you wish to avoid the errors, choose to backup everything except the licence objects.

That works ok for the Licences but that doesnt change the SMS Errors which are in (cannot scan for trustees) is there a way not to use SMS?

The errors are simple they are two that say the same;;

BEGIN SMS ERRORS

Cannot scan for trustees

Cannot scan for trustees

END SMS ERRORS

Also the other one is
it want to back up the licences but cannot due to insufficent privileges but its admin with full rights to everything..
