Okay, this problem has existed for some time, although the back-up does actually run.

The back-up always reports as failed with the following:-

\DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreInstall_Directory was not found, or could not be accessed.
None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up.
The connection to target system has been lost. Backup set canceled.

I think this relates to a problem backing up Exchange or Exchange mailboxes, but I'm not really sure.

Any ideas?

I think it's likely that within the selections for the backup job, the path:

DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreInstall_Directory

is included, this may not be a valid path.

If you look at the selections for the job (Job setup tab, right click on the job, then select properties and go to selections) uncheck the directory and that should solve the problem.

Doesnt appear to be anything to do with exchange, although don't take that as gospel.... what OS is it?

HI,

Yes, I think you're right. The folder is quoted in the selections list, but the actual folder is not visible in the directory on the server. It's a hidden system file.

BExec won't let me remove the directory from the Selections list...

Switch to text view and try there.

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!
