Back up Exec Version 10 hangs on regevent.mof on a remote server

I am running backup exec version 10 on a Windows2000 Server. This server backs up several other remote Windows2000 servers. It has hung on regevent.mof the last two nights. The backup exec remote agent for windows servers was running and has been restarted on the remote server in question.

Any ideas?

Try running NTBACKUP locally to disk on each server and backup the system state. In NTBACKUP make sure you goto TOOL-OPTIONS-BACKUP LOGS and turn on detailed logging.

Most likely you will find NTbackup will have a problem too and have to troubleshoot the OS. Do you have any third party utilities that may be monitoring the system and registry or event logs?
