I'm not very familar with backup exec, can someone please help me out?

I get the message below everytime I run a backup. It shows up in the alert log.

Media Information:

Overwriting allocated media.

Media Overwrite Protection is configured to overwrite allocated media.

Please consult the online help for more information on allocated media.

The media overwrite protection level I've selected is none, and prompt before overwriting allocated or imported media is deselected.

The back up is successfully backing up eveytime. However a media information message, the one listed above, goes into the alert log everytime.

What else do I need to do to stop it from showing up in the alert log.

Thanks for your help

You could turn off the alert in Alert Notifications - the one for Media Overwrite.

Also this is by design, and it just shows you what backup exec is doing.

It's like saying, let me turn off the NT event log because I don't like seeing informational alerts.
