Hi I have Arcserve v9 running on w2k SP4. My back-up has been crashing with no errors on the activity logs and the only thing that I can find is an exception that seems to be caused by the below file:

Task Engine Exception Handler Ver 1.0
Exception Time : Mon Jun 29 00:16:44 2009
Exception Cause : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (attempting to read)
Exception Flags : Noncontinuable exception
Exception Address : 77e1f7dbh
DLL/Exe that caused GP: C:\Program Files\CA\BrightStor ARCserve Backup\ASLOG.dll (From STACK Trace)

I have tried to copy the file from another working back-up on another server, have also restarted but still same issue

I was hoping that someone can point me in the right direction for this?

Consider uninstalling, restart the server, then do a clean reinstall with updates.

If the exception address is different every time then it is more likely something outside the program is causing a problem.

See if it crashes at a specific point in the job.
Run some test jobs to see if it is connected to a specific option or target.
