I am currently running Backup Exec v11d on a Windows Storage Server. I run backup jobs Monday to Friday on to that server, which is on site. On a Saturday I then run a backup on to a USB external HD, I have 5 of these which I rotate. For speed and ease, I originally just copied the Friday backup using xxcopy from the Storage server on to the external drives, but when I tested them the data was always corrupt (but ok on the Storage server). Is there a reason for this and is there a way round it? I always have problems with jobs failing on different external HDs on a weekly basis and I end up each week deleting the media and then doing an inventory of the new drive to get it to work. Thanks.
