I am transitioning into a new company that already uses Aloha and i feel like I am very proficient in how to do most things with the system. The company does not pay for tech support because they have a guy that used to work for tech support do all of their maintenance on the system. Right now I am overhauling the system to better support the nightclub and so as you all know time is money. I am making new events so that the system changes the times for HH and other specials we do during the week, and the way the back office is set up with my access I can not delete events, I can only add and edit them. I was told by one of the other managers that the IT Guy they have will not change my access because he thinks I am going to take his job as tech support there. Is there any way to get around this so that I can do my job and make my system more stream lined for the business? Thanks for your time guys!

If its not the newest Aloha version you can use this
I use a program called DBFnavigator
to use it;
close aloha
open the emp.dbf file in newdata
find the bohsec level the other IT guy uses and change yours to match
save and also save to data folder
close dbfnavigator

open aloha with your ID and you know have the same security level he does

Nothing worse than IT guys who are afraid someone can do a better job they keep things secret. Good IT guys will document everything and leave all onsite should something ever happen to them, they don't screw there client over.

Agree 100%. Many in the POS industry as well (Distributors, support centers etc) purposely withhold information from their end-users in efforts to justify their own existence and maximize profits vs. educating end-users to be self sufficient (to a degree). This forum is proof end-users are often prone to seek advice elsewhere
