Back Exe W2k Problems

Hello,

I have w2k/back up exe 9.0 on poweredge server with powervault t110 320.
My problems started in April. I brought some new SDLT tapes to rotate out to cover 1 month at a time.
Is there special thing that needs to be done to the like format, erase etc when you put in new tapes?

2- Why does the tape device think there is no tape in the drive??

3- I done numerous cleaning. It used to fix itself when I run clean tape.

No I havent upgraded.
If you could tell me how to make the tape active it would be great. I have the tape writeable so I dont know what else more needs to be done. --I havent gotten tech support pkg from veritas so I am confined to using forum.

We conclude its the actual thats causing the errors.

Please help!
