back and forth with CS3 and flash 8

I am working with cs3. I have made a web banner for a site. The kind people at the site are using Flash 8. Our files dont seem to get along. I thought that if something was build in a higher version, it would be able to work in an older version. anyone have some advice?

Using AS3.0 or AS2.0?

Actually it doesn't matter if it's AS1/2 or AS3, CS3 files cannot be opened in Flash 8. Make sure to "save as" Flash 8 from CS3.
