Has anyone tried using this option(set in tape engine config. in Server Admin)?
Just wondered if it works as you'd expect, with all media pools drawing tapes from it and returning to it. Or does it have some other quirks?

The principle of the Global Scratch set is as follows:

no Global Scratch set - every media pool has it's own save and scratch set. The rules for moving tapes from save set to scratch set and vice versa are defined per pool.

Global Scratch Set - every media pool has it's own save set and all media pools share the same scratch set. When tapes move from save set to scratch set they go to the shared scratch set and can thus be used by any job that uses media pooling.

It works fine from what I've seen

regards
