Another monitor problem.
I just bought a HP b132, and I'm trying to use my new ADI M700 17" monitor.
The problem is that when i switch the machine on the screen image is scambled and out of sync. My monitor complains that it is not conneted to anything.

Any ideas
(I don't want to buy another monitor)
thanx

During boot up the first thing a B class system does is ask if you want to change monitor resolution. This is done by pressing the TAB key within 15 seconds after the system first outputs to the screen. Of course if you cannot read the display this doesnt help. What you can do is power the system on and wait until you think the system is up and press the TAB key. You may need to try this several times to get the timing right, but when you do the system will start to cycle through all the supported settings. When you see one that looks good press Enter. You could also pull the keyboard and attach a terminal to the serial port and set it manually.

Hope this helps!

Thanx.
tried it.
does not work.
It just goes through several different other scrambled screens.
Nothing readable.
Any other ideas?

Hi DL120,

I'm probably completely wrong, as terminals are alien to me, but what springs to mind is that I believed an HP terminal must have TERM set to hpterm.

thank u all.
However I don't have a terminal.
Are there any other methods.
Buying a new monitor will cost me more then what i paided for the system.

Is your ADI M700 17" monitor supported on the b132? If it's not you could well damage it if you try and get it to work an the wrong refresh rate. Mike
