Micros res3700. When the owner arrives in the morning there is a window open "DRENFILE.EXE". The window explains there is a problem saving the file.

Window title is QD - Date Stamp File Rename Utility v1.01.

It advises to set new parameters.

Any idea how I access this program to make the recommended changes?

This is probably causing the EOD problems in your other thread.

Was your system purchased used, or was it prexisting when the owner bought the restaurant? DRENFILE.EXE isn't a standard Micros utility, so it sounds like somebody installed a 3rd party application to rotate files. If this is bombing out before the EOD step that increments the business date it could cause the problems you're having. Also, if it's starting to run, locking the journal files and failing before they rotate, it could cause the errors your seeing on the workstation.

The best way to start is to find out where that program came from, and find out how to use it. If that's not possible you'll have to write or find scripts to take care of the file maintenance.

Hi,

I agree with pmegan, how about searching the drive and seeing where this exe is located? There could be an external program setup and called in the EOD... its a bit tough as its not a Micros program. It could even be unrelated to Micros & the EOD...
Please update this thread with the DIR path of this exe
